Stories That Reconnect: Building Nuri Tales, a Mindful Parenting Companion

Why

Every parent knows the moment: a tantrum at the supermarket, tears at bedtime, a fight between siblings that leaves everyone exhausted. In the heat of it, it’s hard to understand what’s really going on inside a child — and even harder to reconnect afterwards. We wanted to give parents a tool that helps them understand their children’s emotions better and find their way back to each other after hard moments.

What we did

We built Nuri Tales in-house, from first concept to launch. It’s a mindful parenting companion that turns everyday challenges — tantrums, tears, sibling spats — into personalised, age-appropriate stories. Parents share what happened, and Nuri Tales creates a story that helps their child process the moment and gives the family a gentle way to talk about feelings. The result: stronger emotional bonds, one story at a time.

Key learnings

  • AI and automation unlock real personalisation — but trust comes first. AI makes it possible to create a unique story for every family and every moment. At the same time, when you work with children’s emotions and family life, protecting data is more important than ever. Privacy isn’t a feature; it’s the foundation.
  • Build with families, not just for them. Testing and iterating with parents and children again and again is what shaped the product. Their feedback turned a good idea into something families actually want to use.
  • AI makes a lot easier — but the thinking stays human. Technology can speed up creation enormously, yet the pedagogical thinking, the empathy, and the decisions about what’s right for a child still have to come from people.
